The internet is full of “earn money donating plasma” content. Here is the India truth first, then the how: paid plasma centres do not exist in India. Plasma here is donated voluntarily at licensed blood banks — free to give, free to receive the way all blood should be.
What plasma actually is
The straw-yellow liquid carrying your red cells and platelets — 55% of your blood’s volume, and the part that clots, carries proteins and fights infection. Patients who need plasma: burns, liver disease, clotting-factor disorders, massive transfusions.
How plasma donation works (apheresis)
A machine draws your blood, spins out just the plasma, and returns your red cells and platelets to your arm. Because you get your red cells back, recovery is faster than whole blood, and equipped centres can take plasma donations more frequently than the 90/120-day whole-blood rule.
Who can do it
Same gates as whole blood — 18-65, 50 kg+, healthy, screened — plus usable veins and an equipped apheresis centre nearby (medical colleges usually have them; ask your district’s bank).
The AB magic
AB plasma is the universal plasma — it can go to any patient regardless of group. If you are AB+/AB−, your plasma is disproportionately valuable, and AB whole blood is often in low demand — ask your centre about donating plasma or platelets instead.
The scam-adjacent warning
If any Indian “centre” offers you money for plasma, it is operating outside the law — walk away and report it. If an agent offers to pay you for “plasma lessons” to fly to the US, that is a visa scam. Real plasma donation in India is free to give, and priceless to receive.
