e-RaktKosh — how to check blood availability yourself

The government's national blood stock platform, and how to use it before you travel to any bank.

e-RaktKosh (eraktkosh.in) is the Government of India’s national blood-bank network. Most licensed centres across Assam report their stock to it — group by group, in near-real time.

How to use it:

  1. Open eraktkosh.in → Blood Availability
  2. Choose your state (Assam), district, blood group and component
  3. You’ll see which banks report units of that group, right now

Honest limitations:

  • Not every centre updates in real time — treat it as a strong signal, not a guarantee
  • Stock for rare negative groups can vanish within hours of appearing
  • Always call the centre before travelling far

Where it fits for you: check e-RaktKosh for stock; use our register for donors when banks are empty; call the centre either way. The three channels together are the strongest position a family can be in.
