How Assam Blood Donor verifies donors (the trust page)

Every donor on this register cleared ID verification, NBTC eligibility screening, a phone-verified account, and — for the directory — a human-reviewed proof of blood group. Here is the whole process, openly.

A stranger’s WhatsApp message says “I am a voluntary donor for your request.” The only thing between your family and that stranger is our verification process. Here is exactly what runs behind every name on this platform — openly, because trust pages should show their work.

Layer 1 — Phone verification

Every account starts with a working phone number verified by OTP. No throwaway numbers, no anonymous registrations, no second accounts on the same number.

Layer 2 — Identity proof

Registration requires an uploaded identity document (driving licence, blood-group card, or any ID showing name). A human reviews it — blurred images, screenshots and names that don’t match are rejected.

Layer 3 — Blood-group proof, reviewed by a human

Every applicant uploads a document showing their blood group — a report, prescription, or donor card. Our team checks that the group claimed matches the document. Only then does the donor become visible and matchable. This single step is why fake “O− universal donor” claims die at the door.

Layer 4 — Screening at every donation

Verification does not replace the blood bank. At every actual donation, licensed staff run the NBTC screening — haemoglobin, BP, the full questionnaire — and test every unit in the lab. Our verification gets the right human to the chair; the bank’s testing makes the unit safe.

The directory + the resting system

Donors listed in our directory are approved, contactable, and automatically hidden when they are in their post-donation rest period or on a break. Reports from seekers auto-hide anyone flagged, pending our review.

What verification does not promise

It cannot promise a donor will answer at 2 AM, or that they will pass the blood bank’s same-day screening. It promises: the person you contact is a real, identity-checked human whose blood group we have seen proof of. In this space, that is not a small thing.

People also ask

How does ABD verify a donor?

Four layers: phone-verified account, identity proof uploaded, blood-group proof reviewed by a human, and NBTC eligibility screening at every actual donation by licensed staff.

Why do you reject some donors?

Unclear or invalid proof, unmet eligibility, or misuse. Rejected applicants are told and can re-apply with valid documents.

Does verification guarantee a donor will donate?

No — verification proves who they are and their declared group. The final medical check happens at the blood bank on donation day, as it must.
