We are not a blood bank. We connect people who need blood with people who can give it.

Assam Blood Donor

packed red blood cells

Red cells (pRBC).

The oxygen-carrying component, separated from your whole-blood donation and concentrated into a small pack.

Why patients need it

Red cells are what anaemia, surgery, childbirth complications and thalassaemia patients need most. This is the component Assam uses in the largest volume.

How it's donated

You donate whole blood; the centre's component separation unit extracts the red cells. Only centres with component separation produce pRBC, in our verified list: GMCH, AMCH, SMCH and BBCI.

Eligibility

Same as whole blood, the centre decides on the day.

Eligibility is the centre's call.Every donation, whatever the component, happens only at a licensed blood centre after their screening on the day. Our guides describe the general national rules; they never override a centre's medical decision.

Every component starts with a registered donor

Two minutes to join the register. We contact you only when a patient near you needs what you have.
