We are not a blood bank. We connect people who need blood with people who can give it.

Assam Blood Donor

component donation

Apheresis donation.

A machine draws your blood, keeps only the component the patient needs (platelets or plasma), and returns everything else to your arm, continuously.

Why patients need it

One apheresis donation equals a full adult dose of platelets, which would otherwise take 4–6 whole-blood donations to gather.

How it's donated

You sit about 60–90 minutes with a needle in each arm (or one, depending on the machine). You can donate apheresis more often than whole blood.

Eligibility

Centres screen apheresis donors extra carefully (blood counts, veins, weight). AMCH Dibrugarh and GMCH run apheresis at their model blood banks, call ahead.

Eligibility is the centre's call.Every donation, whatever the component, happens only at a licensed blood centre after their screening on the day. Our guides describe the general national rules; they never override a centre's medical decision.

Every component starts with a registered donor

Two minutes to join the register. We contact you only when a patient near you needs what you have.
